Important Library Resource Update
-ClinicalKey to be discontinued 01/01/2026-

As part of our ongoing commitment to responsible stewardship and to delivering the highest-value resources to our members, the MDL Digital Library regularly reviews usage, cost, and clinical impact across our collection.

Following a comprehensive review, ClinicalKey will be discontinued as a library resource effective 01/01/2026.

While ClinicalKey has provided value for some users, its overall utilization across our member organizations has remained limited relative to cost. Continuing this resource would significantly constrain our ability to invest in tools that more directly support:

-Audit readiness and regulatory compliance
-Nursing competency validation and skills assessment
-Quality improvement and infection prevention
-Frontline clinical decision-making in rural and critical access settings

This decision allows us to reallocate funds toward higher-use, higher-impact resources that better align with the operational and regulatory realities faced by our member hospitals and academic partners.

Importantly, our total resource offering remains robust, including:
-Evidence-based clinical practice guidelines
-Full-text journals
-Nursing skills and competency checklists
-Continuing education and Maintenance of Certification (MOC) credits
